One of the key factors of course is effective drug education being made universally available to our young people. This is an arena that is typically given a tip of the hat as opposed to real attention

Excellent column!
Very well presented!
My late husband & I, were both born to alcoholic mothers, and we easily, happily picked it up.
The only problem, is that neither of our mothers had ANY health damage because of it, but we did.
There is no rhyme or reason, no specific date, time, or type of person.
It just hits, willy nilly, as Satans Minions see fit.
Keep up the good work my friend, hopefully somewhere somepeople, will get the message !

This is about the 4th article I've received on Alcohol in Energy Drinks, & I just can't believe that our Governments allow this sort of behaviour!
It's bad enough adults guzzling liquor, but to start young people off with it, is just MADNESS !! My late husband & I, drank from late 20's to mid 40's, with friends, family, workmates etc. & then being 100% healthy.
But then the nasty little Minion did his work. Consequently NOT drinking, isn't a real loss, but we both had to quit working, & MV driving etc.
And there are no cures, only medication for life, containing a huge amount of side effects !
It's called 'Grand-Mal Seizures' somewhat related to Epilepsy!
NOT nice at all !!! Myself along with many others are trying to force the Government into making it mandatory, for ALL liquor containers to bear a large warning & increase prices, same as what's been done to Cigarettes.
I wish you well in your endeavors though, as you're going to need it !

As a Certified Chemical Dependency Counselor working in the field of drug rehabilitation I fully concur with this article. These days, in the main, it is no longer a question of if prescription drugs are involved along with the presenting problem or addiction. It is becoming more and more a question of what prescription drugs are being used in the mix.
